October Share the Plate - Families to Freedom

October Share The Plate – Families to Freedom

October is domestic violence awareness month. Families to Freedom transports victims of domestic abuse to safety. They serve victims of family violence and trafficking from across the region who are ready to leave a life of abuse and threats to become free. Their life-saving services include car rides to domestic violence shelters across North Texas, road trips to family homes in other states, bus tickets, cheap flights, and fuel assistance to relocate far away. Year to date, they transported over 500 victims and 460 children, embarking on over 615 trips. Services are entirely free thanks to the generous support of the community.

In addition to funds, they need volunteers. Learn more at FamiliestoFreedom.org

You may GIVE HERE to Families to Freedom by selecting Give to Share-The-Plate. You may also mail checks to the church made out to Horizon UU Church with Families to Freedom on the memo line any time during the month of October.
