Join Horizon members and friends as we join in honoring Dr. King’s legacy and work toward the vision of beloved community. You may join our marching group (ages 11 and under must ride not walk) north of city hall on Rainwater Lane at 9:45 am. Or you may join a group of Horizon parade watchers who will park at Bea Salazar School at 2416 Keller Springs and watch the parade as it turns onto Kelly Boulevard. We will collect non-perishable food and personal items for Metrocrest Services in the parking lot at Bea Salazar. (In the case of rain, Metrocrest collection will take place at Horizon on Sunday, January 17th from 2p-4p.)
If you would like to help create parade signs/decorations or have a pickup truck or other vehicle that you’d be willing to drive in the parade please contact justice@horizonuu.org. Or if you have ideas for our marching group.
This year there is also an afternoon celebration and awards ceremony in old downtown Carrollton with live New Orleans style music beginning at 1pm. If you would like to volunteer to help with with event (standing by a table with masks & hand-sanitizer & Metrocrest collection box) contact justice@horizonuu.org.
