Dallas area is home to one million African American citizens, but few people know much about the history of the early settlers and communities for people of color.
Explore the almost forgotten history by visiting many of the sites that were instrumental in the development of vibrant African American communities throughout the city.
Illuminate the role of African Americans in the formation of Deep Ellum.
We will join a public bus tour conducted and narrated by a wonderful, older African American couple, Don and Jocelyn Pinkard, who grew up in the community.
There will be several stops where we can get off and take short walks, such as at the Freedmen’s Cemetery.

Please email M.C. Meador if you do purchase a ticket so he will have a head count.
