Hidden History Tour

Join others from Horizon for a guided bus tour on Saturday, Oct 28 from 9am - 12 pm of the Hidden History of African Americans in DFW. We'll visit twenty historic sites that trace the path of the African American journey in one of America’s largest cities.

Details:
The tour is conducted by Don and Jocelyn Pinkard who grew up in the community. It will depart from a transit center near Fair Park at 9am and lasts 3 hours.

Reserving your spot is a two-step process: 

1.      Sign up and pay with the tour operator for the Oct. 28 trip at Hidden History Tours  

2.      Let Horizon’s organizer know you’re coming: mcmeador@gmail.com
Tour Costs per person*:
Adult $47     Senior $37     Child $17 (under 13)

 Note these fees are non-refundable.

All tours depart from the J.B. Jackson, Jr. Transit Center, near Fair Park, off MLK Blvd behind Walgreen’s. Tours depart promptly at 9am.
Getting to the Transit Center
Carpools will depart from Horizon Church at 8am.  Please let mcmeador@gmail.com know you will be there.

You can drive directly to the Transit Center.  There is ample, secure parking.

This event is open to everyone.
The bus is a regular tour bus with steps to board.
There will be several stops where we can get off and take short walks, such as at the Freedmen’s Cemetery.
