Though immigration policies are consistently among the top concerns of voters in this country, very few voters understand the issue and have been indoctrinated to believe a false narrative. Tonight, Action Hour team lead Dale Story, Congregational & Justice Organizer Michelle Venegas-Matula, and special guests will examine some Texas state policies based on those false narratives and share “talking points” for shifting the immigration debate. Using this information, we will practice having conversations, grounded in the value of love, that change this false narraitve. Thursday September 19 7:00- 8:00 PM CT On-line Only Phone Banking Texas Unitarian Universalist Justice Ministry (TXUUJM) is offering non-partisan phone banking / Get out the Vote (GOTV) opportunities through the November 5th election. We're better together as we contact underrepresented voters in Bexar County, Texas! Community partner - to be announced. Saturday October 5/Sunday October 6th Door to Door Canvassing Dallas/Fort Worth, In-Person
Join UU the Vote, Texas UU Justice Ministry, Faith in Texas and Avow as we take action in key districts talking to voters in Dallas/Fort Worth. On Saturday morning we will have breakfast, a quick canvass training and hit the doors talking to voters. On Sunday morning we will attend worship together and then canvass again together in the afternoon. I have been asked to report our GOTV activities at an aggregate level, so will not be recording or tallying or reporting data at an individual level.
